Field Trips

OBA Field Trips are free and open to the general public. Depending on the destination, entry fees may be required. We welcome all levels of birdwatchers including those with disabilities.
Remember to dress for the weather.
Trips occurring during a winter storm warning are automatically canceled.

Field Trip Guidelines
1. Trip size will be strictly limited. The number of participants will be set by the
trip leaders based on the location that we are visiting.
2. All participants must pre-register with the trip leader(s)
so we can get an accurate count. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will sometimes have to indicate that a trip is full.
3. If you are not feeling well, you should not attend the field trip.

Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is an annual, 116 year-old national bird survey sponsored by the National Audubon Society, conducted on a specific day during the months of December and early January. This survey is conducted across the United States, all Canadian provinces, Mexico, Samoa, South America, and several other countries. The CBC is the longest running citizen science project in the world and OBA has participated in it for over 50 years. Membership is not required
